2008年5月12日，一场无情的大地震将汶川与全国人民紧紧地连在一起。古乐府中有这样一首描述男女爱情的诗歌。
上邪 The Pledge
上邪！ Oh Heaven high!
我欲与君相知， I will love him
长命无绝衰。 forever till I die,
山无陵， Till mountains crumble,
江水为竭， Rivers run dry,
冬雷震震， In winter thunder rumble,
夏雨雪， In summer snow fall far and nigh,
天地合， And the earth mingle with the sky,

看着年逾花甲的温总理在地震的重灾区用他那已经沙哑的声音问候灾民，看着全国人民团结一致，共同与地震做斗争的一个个场景，特别是看着老师们搂着自己的学生被压在楼板下的图片，泪水在我的眼中翻滚。对于刚刚失去父亲的我来讲，我更理解失去亲人的痛彻。但我要说的是，这些天发生的一切告诉我们，中华民族是一个伟大的民族，天灾人祸只会使我们团结得更加紧密。因为我们都是龙的传人，在祖国的大地上，不论何处有难，即便是

中华儿女都不会“与君绝”，因为，老祖宗教诲我们，老吾老以及人之老，幼吾幼以及人之幼。
管夫人《致赵孟頫》一诗云：
你侬我侬， ’Twixt you and me
忒煞情多—— There’s too much emotion.
情多处， That’s the reason why
热如火。 There’s such a fiery commotion.
把一块泥， Take a lump of clay, wet it, pat it,
捻一个你， And make an image of you,
塑一个我。 And an image of me.
将咱两个， Then smash them, crush them,
一齐打破， And, with a little water, knead them together.
再捻一个你， And out of the clay, we’ll re-make an image of you,
再塑一个我。 And an image of me.
我泥中有你， Thus in my clay, there’s a little of you,
